Mass Political Attitudes in the Arab States of the Gulf: Administering the Arab Democracy Barometer in Qatar and Kuwait

The objective of the project is to conduct the Arab Democracy Barometer (ADB) survey in Qatar and Kuwait. The ADB is a rich, multi-country survey research project that collects data for theory-driven and policy-relevant inquiry in order to provide a broader and more accurate understanding of the views held by ordinary men and women in the Arab world. The ABD also undertakes dissemination and outreach activities that promote political accountability and good governance by helping policymakers–both Arab and Western–to better understand the political and social preferences of their citizens. The surveys in Qatar and Kuwait will be part of the fourth wave of ADB surveys. Since its founding in 2006, the ADB has carried out 29 nationally representative surveys and conducted face-to-face interviews with more than 35,000 respondents in fourteen counties. The fourth wave in the spring of 2016 includes at least nine countries across the region.
