ISR Fund Descriptions
- Robert Kahn Fellowship for the Scientific Study of Social Problems
This endowed fund honors ISR Founder Robert Kahn and his dedication to using the best social science methodology available to solve social problems. This fund will provide tuition support, stipend, Grad Care and research support for the best such proposal from across the University campus.
- Elizabeth "Libby" Douvan Junior Scholars Fund in Life Course Development
This fund will provide small research grants to emerging scholars in the field, where scholars investigate roles, relationships and their effects on physical and mental health. The endowed fund honors Libby Douvan, who dedicated her life to breaking boundaries, studying the evolving roles of women and fostering success among those most in need of support and encouragement. Her Regental Citation upon her retirement stated, "She (Libby) has been especially important as an advocate for women and the position of minority groups in academia."
- Robert B. Zajonc Scholars Fund
The Zajonc Scholars Fund will provide assistantship and scholarship support for outstanding first and second year graduate students who are interested in a research career to work with faculty in the Research Center for Group Dynamics. This endowed fund honors Bob and his commitment to inspiring and launching research careers.
- Next Generation Fund
This fund supports Graduate and postdoctoral students and young faculty doing innovative research in the social sciences with ISR researchers.
- ISR Director's Unrestricted Fund
This fund provides the ISR and its director with resources to face difficult challenges and exciting opportunities, such as seed funding for a faculty research project and travel money for outstanding graduate students. ISR has limited sources of discretionary dollars from which to draw, and your gift can make the difference between maximizing or missing an opportunity.
