Summer 2008 GSI/Grader Position Descriptions
SurvMeth 630 (Questionnaire Design)
Grader (50% appointment)
Description of duties: Grade homework assignments, midterm, course projects and final exam. Assist the instructors in preparing class examples and exercises. Tutor students needing additional help per instructor direction.
Required qualifications: Successful completion of SurvMeth 630, Questionnaire Design), or an equivalent course in methods for developing and testing survey questionnaires.
Desired qualifications: Advanced coursework in related courses in Survey Methodology including successful completion of SurvMeth 623, Data Collection Methods, and SurvMeth 632, Cognition, Communication and Survey Measurement.
Availability: May 15-July 1, 2008
SurvMeth 612 (Methods of Survey Sampling), Grader (50% appointment)

Description of duties: Grade homework assignments, midterm, course projects and final exam. Review homework problems and solution sheets and exam problems. Also, tutor students needing additional help per instructor direction.
Required qualifications: Successful completion of SurvMeth 612 or equivalent course in applied sampling methods.
Desired qualifications: Successful completion of SurvMeth 617 or equivalent course in sampling theory.

SurvMeth 673 (Survey Practicum: Analysis)
GSI (50% appointment)
Description of duties: Assist instructor in preparation of class materials including preparation of data sets, homework assignments and exams. Lead study sections to discuss homework, mentor students in preparation of papers.
Required qualifications: Successful completion or concurrent enrollment in SurvMeth 623 and two graduate level statistical methods courses.
Desired qualifications: Successful completion of survey practicum or equivalent experience.
Availability: September - December, 2008
SurvMeth 673 (Survey Practicum: Analysis) & 670 (Survey Design Seminar)
GSI (50% appointment)
Description of duties: Assist instructor in preparation of class materials including preparation of data sets, homework assignments and exams. Lead study sections to discuss homework, mentor students in preparation of papers. Contact individuals to serve as clients of design seminar.
Required qualifications: Successful completion or concurrent enrollment in SurvMeth 623 and two graduate level statistical methods courses.
