Brief BiographyAnna Meyendorff is a Faculty Associate in the Center for Political Studies at the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan. She is also a senior economist at ApplEcon LLC, a consulting firm that provides litigation support, strategic business consulting and merger analysis. Her research focuses on the development of financial markets in transitional economies, and she has published articles on bank privatization in Central Europe and Russia and on black markets for foreign exchange in the transition period. She has received research grants from the US Department of Treasury, the US Department of State, the National Council for Eurasian and East European Research, the Ford Foundation and private industry. Dr. Meyendorff's most recent publication is Designing Financial Systems in Transition Economies (MIT Press, 2002), co-edited with Anjan Thakor. She has held several research positions at the World Bank, and is fluent in Russian and French. Dr. Meyendorff received an A.B. from Princeton University, and an M.A. in political science and Ph.D. in economics from the University of California at Berkeley. Project Web Site |
